This character is from FFXI by the way; he isin't all that well known unfortunatly ^_^.
Name: Eald'narche Race: Mage (On the characters page there is a race called Crystal Wielders. It isin't on the races page and so I don't really know it's details, however it might fit better, given that his power is mainly derived from the crystal in his eye.) Job: Planet Destroyer Alignment: Evil Moves/Limit/Magic 1. Magic Art 2. Limit 3. Fire 4. Slow 5. Blizzard Stats Hit Points: 20,000 Energy: 1,000 Strength: 5,000 Speed: 34,000 Intel: 40,000 AIM: N/A (I need to reinstall it) Email: menodix@yahoo.com Bio: In the ancient past, a race of beings known as the Zilart built a vast civilization. With their inginuity and knowledge they crafted amazing wonders of magic and science, it was truly a golden age. Soon the Zilart began to develop a new ability, "the whisper of souls", a form of telepathy that enabled them to work together in utter unity. This potent ability vastly increased the power of their civilization, but it also sparked the beginning of it's end. Soon children began to be born without "the whisper", sparking fear and mocking from the Zilart. This condition was believed to be caused by "The Emptiness", the taint of the Twilight God. These tainted Zilart became known as The Kuluu, and most of them left the Zilart capital to form their own home. Time passed and the Kuluu as well began to form a powerful society, even without "The Whisper of Souls", which worried the Zilart King. In the end he decided to launch a decisive strike, and the Kuluu were quickly conquered. Because the Zilart were unable to read the minds of the tainted Kuluu, a form of amulet was designed and installed upon all Kuluu, which transmitted their thoughts to a device known as the "Eye of Altena", allowing the Zilart King to moniter them. As a final precaution he sealed the Capitals gates so that, aside from a select few nobles, only once every 100 years could they be entered or exited.
It was in this age that The young Zilart prince, Eald'narche, came into contact with the crystal. His aging immediatly halted and his left eye was literally infused with the crystal. Along with this immortality came incredible magical power, even amongst the Zilart. Many years later Eald'narche's younger brother Kam'lanaut was given similer benifits, albeit without the crystal eye. There was one final effect of the crystal upon Eald'narche however, he recieved a vision of true paradise; the world of the Gods. He mentally broadcast this vision to all Zilart, and with it the knowledge of how to attain it. With the vision clear in their minds, the Zilart began a new campaign to open the Gate of the Gods and attain this paradise, harnessing the power of the crystals. However the attempts to open the gate instead released something far diffrent; it awakened the Terrestrial Avatars led by Bahamut. An outright war began between these beings and the Zilart, giving cover for a covert assault. The Kuluu, long subjegated by the Zilart, joined forces with the Dawnmaidens; the Zilart's highest priestesses. They knew that if the gate were opened Vana'diel itself would cease to be, Paradise could not be attained through such means. They launched an attack against the Palace of Fei'yin, and created an energy reaction which caused the crystals to spin out of control. The resulting explosion wiped out the Dawnmaidens, along with most of the Zilart and Kuluu. The few survivers joined forces, in hopes of restoring the world they had all but destroyed. Soon the Zilart faded into apparent extinction, and something far diffrent befell the Kuluu. The energy that remained from the explosion twisted their evolution, and they soon became the beings now known as Tonberry.
This energy worked both ways however, and various species of animal began to mutate, becoming the modern races of Vana'diel. While presumed dead in the explosion, Eald'narche and Kam'lanaut were infact simply in a form of stasis deep within Vana'diel, waiting for their time to awaken. This time came when the Galka Talekeeper known as Raogrimm swore himself to the dark spirits of Vana'diel and made contact with the crystal in the far north. At this time The Shadow Lord was born, and a surge of energy bolted through the long dorment Crystal Line, awakening the Zilart Princes. Unlike the other Zilart, the princes did not concern themselves with the destruction their actions had caused, and vowed to continue the project. They came to a small fishing village by the name of Jeuno, and with their Zilart knowledge transformed it into a trade hub of great renown. Over the years it grew more and more powerful, and when the Shadow Lord launched his attack, Kam'lanaut requested the government of Bastok allow them to form a soverign nation. With the current crisis the administration was happy to shrug off any possible responsibility, and so they agreed quickly. Soon what was once a small village became the world's dominant nation, center of trade and science. They also were the most open opponents of the Beastmen whom fought in the Shadow Lord's name, and it was Kam'lanaut whom petitioned for the formation of the Alliance of Altena. The true reason behind these actions were far from kind however, the very existance of the Shadow Lord produced a sort of "noise" which disrupted the restoration of the crystalis core; without which the Gate of the Gods could not be opened.
